1. Who This Policy Applies To
This Billing & Refund Policy (“Policy”) is issued by Tax Wallet Inc., a Florida corporation (Florida Document No. P23000077808), doing business as TaxWallet (“TaxWallet”, “we”, “our”). It applies to every fee paid to TaxWallet through the website (taxwallet.ai), the dashboard (app.taxwallet.ai), the mobile apps and the API.
This Policy forms part of the Terms of Service and explains Sections 7 and 21 of the Terms of Service. If this Policy and the Terms of Service conflict, the Terms of Service control.
2. What You Pay
Fees are the fees shown in your order or account when you buy, renew or use a service, or in a signed office or partner agreement. They may include a package or subscription, per-return fees, add-ons and usage fees. You authorize us and our payment processors to charge your payment method when fees are due.
You are responsible for fees incurred under your account and credentials, including by your staff. Taxes are added where the law requires.
3. Fees That Are Separate From TaxWallet’s Fees
- Bank-product fees. Refund transfers, refund advances and other bank products are offered by the issuing bank. The bank sets its fees, deducts them from the refund under its own terms and decides any refund of them. Questions about those fees go to the bank.
- Transmitter fee. The transmitter fee is TaxWallet’s fee for transmitting returns. TaxWallet sets it and keeps it. It is separate from TaxWallet’s software fees and from the preparer’s fees, and it is not waived by the introductory offer.
- Preparer fees. Tax offices and preparers set and charge their own fees to their clients, subject to the law and bank-partner rules. If you are a taxpayer, questions about your preparer’s fees go to your preparer first (Section 2.4 of the Terms of Service).
- Third-party fees. Carriers, processors and other third parties may charge their own fees.
4. Introductory Offer for New Offices
As Section 21 of the Terms of Service sets out, new offices activating for the 2027 filing season pay no TaxWallet per-return software fee for their first 15 federal returns accepted by the IRS, and TaxWallet sets up the office at no charge. Bank-product fees, the transmitter fee, third-party fees, taxes, penalties and the office’s own preparer fees are not waived. One offer per office/EFIN; it cannot be combined with other promotions.
5. Renewals and Cancellation
- If a plan renews automatically, the renewal term, the price and how to cancel are shown before you buy, and we charge for a renewal only if you agreed to it.
- You can cancel a renewal at any time by emailing support@taxwallet.ai or, where the option is shown, in your account. Cancellation stops future renewals; access continues until the end of the period already paid.
- We confirm cancellations by email.
- A signed office or partner agreement may set its own renewal and cancellation terms, which then apply to that agreement.
6. Refunds
Fees paid to TaxWallet are not refundable, except where the law requires otherwise. There is no money-back guarantee.
If we charge you in error, for example a duplicate charge or a charge caused by our system, we will correct it, including by refunding the amount charged in error.
Fees are not refunded because a service was not used, a return was transmitted, rejected or delayed by the IRS, a state or a bank, the outcome of a return was not what was hoped, or access ended because of a breach of the Terms of Service or the Acceptable Use Policy.
Plan changes take effect as shown in your account. Downgrades and cancellations do not create partial or prorated refunds.
7. Failed Payments
If a payment fails, we may retry it. You have 7 days to update your payment method. After that we may suspend paid features until the balance is paid. You remain responsible for amounts already due.
For Business Customers (as defined in Section 18 of the Terms of Service), unpaid amounts accrue interest and collection costs, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, as Section 7.2 of the Terms of Service provides. That Section does not apply to Consumers.
8. Billing Questions and Chargebacks
If you think a charge is wrong, email support@taxwallet.ai first. We review every billing question and correct errors.
A chargeback of validly incurred fees is a material breach of the Terms of Service (Section 7.1). We may suspend the account while it is resolved and respond to the card network with our records. Nothing in this Policy limits any right the law gives you to dispute a charge with your card issuer.
9. How Payments Are Processed
Card and bank payments are processed by our payment processors and banking partners, which approve or decline transactions, apply their own risk rules and settle funds. Payment details are encrypted and replaced by a processor token for later charges. We never store card security codes (CVV), and our staff cannot see full card numbers.
Where offices connect their own merchant accounts to collect from their clients, the office and its processor are responsible for those payments, disputes and chargebacks.
10. Disputes
Billing disputes are handled under the Terms of Service, including the pre-suit notice in Section 13 and the dispute-resolution terms in Section 18.
11. Changes
We may update this Policy. We post the new version here with its date and version number and keep earlier versions readable. Changes to fees apply from the next order, renewal or billing period after notice, not to fees already paid.
