Why we built TaxWallet (and who it's for)

TaxWallet exists because the tax-prep stack is the worst-engineered software in the country, and the people using it are the most underserved professionals we know.

Independent preparers, multi-office Service Bureaus, EROs — you handle some of the most sensitive financial data in the country, run a Q1 sprint that would break most ops teams, and your tooling looks like it's from 2008 because it is. Most of you keep returns straight with a combination of spreadsheets, sticky notes, and a printer that needs to be coaxed into working at 11pm on April 14.

We're building TaxWallet for one specific reader: the office owner who knows their workflow inside-out and has been waiting for software that respects it.

What that looks like in practice

• Mobile-first because most of the work happens away from a desk.
• Workflows that match the actual job (intake → return → e-file → payment → follow-up), not workflows imposed by a software vendor.
• Security that takes the data seriously: SOC 2 Type II, hard tenant isolation, encrypted local cache.
• An audit log you'd be proud to hand to a regulator.
• Integration with the Twilio account / payment processor / e-file software you already use — bring-your-own everywhere we can.
